A Fire Museum is being built in Gysinge, Sweden. At the time of my visit it wasn’t really finished but it was opened with 45 cars/trucks from the present collection of about 65 at display. Although there wasn’t any Volvo C300 series firefighter in the museum the manager told me he had one C303 of site and showed me a nice C202 located in a closed barn next to the main building. Among all the nice trucks a few off-road capable could be found; Scania SBA111, Mercedes Unimog, Hägglunds BV206, Dodge Weapon Carrier, Willys CJ2 and a Land Rover 107 to mention a few. Visit recommended!

Volvo C303, winner of the light truck category in the 1983 Paris-Dakar Rally!

355 vehicles started, of 198 cars 53 reached the goal in Dakar. Volvo Trucks had two trucks in the “Trucks 3.5 to 10 tons” category and one won its class, came second in the trucks category and as number 20 in the totals. The winner is now at the Volvo Museum in Gothenburg.
