Volvo 8×8

A video from the military or possibly Volvo evaluation/development of TGB20, an 8×8 version of the Volvo C300 series.  It seems that the 8×8 had good terrain capabilities and is compared with Unimog and also the Volvo TGB11 and TGB13 . This version never made it into production, instead TGB20 became a longer version of the TGB13 (6×6)

If you’re looking for a C3xx here in the states, then please check out my website.

These are the best trucks for on and off road in my opinion.

Very cool to see the testing. It is interesting to see how in many of the situations the 8X8 did better (at least on mud runs, and ditch crossings). Likely due to having 8 tires on the ground working to help one another. In the snow however, it seemed about the same as the others, a little less at times. Some of that is likely due to its long length starting up slopes with a lot of friction drag under the frame. In tight spots it would suck I would think. But in open areas it does really well. Thanks for posting this.

    TGB11 Owner.
